Drinking from Digital Firehose

I enjoyed reading both these articles. In the first article I liked how Lanham was answering questions about all the mass amounts of information we get everyday and how we should handle it. I think he is correct when he says people want to share their information with others by using the web. It was also interesting how he talked about electronic books and how they are not yet there, but Sony is close.

The other article that Dr. Nichols helped write was really investing to me because it touched on points that we have gone over in class. For example, the "Is Google Making us Stupid" article. It was funny reading about that again because it was such a relevant article. Also the authors touched on the subject about aggregation and curation, which we are also learning about in class by using the internet and websites such as Pinterest and Flipboard. I also liked the student project scenarios because they gave the reader a real life picture.

Both the articles talked about the digital age we live in, and all the information that we are stimulated with on the day to day basis. It is so interesting to see how far we have come since the age of the internet has started, and it is exciting to see where we can go to.

Update

Within the past couple of weeks we have been learning so much and intaking so much new information. We have branded ourselves by having a brand voice and style sheet, we have gone onto BrandYourself and helped increase our score when it comes to social media, we have started creating our websites on weebly and will continue working on them for the rest of the semester, and lastly we have been introduced to HootSuite which is a social media hotspot, you can log onto 3 of your social medias and see everything that is happening on your feed and also send out mass updates to all channels. All this new information is useful in helping us in the real world, and I am excited to see all the new things to come for the rest of this semester, and the next.

Field House VR Tour

Suz and I worked on this practice VR tour together. We went to the field house and took 360 pictures of areas we were familiar with.
